An archive of the South Dakota All State Jazz Band has been compiled by esteemed
member of SDBA, Jerry Letcher. There may be some spelling errors, and we
would appreciate notification of any such error so that corrections can be made.
Corrections can be emailed to the

The 2008 South Dakota All State Jazz Band is financially supported the South Dakota Bandmasters Association. This year the South Dakota High School Activities Association is also co-sponsoring the event. This year's festival dates are May 1st - May 3rd, 2008. All rehearsals and the finale concert are held at the new Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD.
The finale concert will begin at 7:30pm in the
NSU Theatre on Saturday May 3rd, 2008.
Students are selected into one of several jazz ensembles based upon their performance on their audition tapes or CD.
For any additional information concerning the SD All State Jazz Band, please contact Dennis McDermott via email or call him at Aberdeen Central HS at 1-605-725-8246. Please be aware that there is a $10.00 per audition fee that will need to be sent with the audition materials AND a $30.00 per All State Jazz Band Member fee that will need to be paid when you arrive at the All State Jazz Band weekend.
