This years judges are Dr. Alan LaFave from Northern State University, Dr. Paul Schilf from Augustana College, Dr. Rolf Olson from the University of South Dakota and Dr. Corliss Johnson from South Dakota State University.

Directors can click HERE to go to the SDHSAA web site to become informed of all the regulations, procedures, times frames and other information they need to know in order to properly prepare students for All State Band Auditions. You can also download the sight-reading materials and terminology tests used with the current All State Band.

All State Band information begins on page 32 of the music handbook.

The  audition procedure consists of students performing a prepared solo, selected chromatic, major & minor scales (updated in 2008 - available at SDHSAA website), sight-reading and a terminology test. Students audition at five different audition sites around the state. Those auditions sites are: Aberdeen, Pierre, Rapid City, Sioux Falls and Watertown.
